11:00 AM - O.C. Zine Fest begins throughout the First Floor of the Library and continues deep into the Multipurpose Room on the Lower Level 👀 And don’t miss the yummy food truck in the Library’s Green Space 🌳 on the first floor, just outside the back door of the 7/8 Place!

12:00 PM - 12:45 PM - “OCZF Community History Celebrating 10 Years” - Storytime Room
A round-robin style conversation with Benny, Tristan, and Aimee, the co-founders of O. C. Zine Fest! With an intention to take a journey into the past and share OCZF’s community origin stories, current OCZF fans can learn the first-hand account of the community organizers who brought us all together today.12:00 PM - 12:45 PM - “Mi Corazon: A Perzine Workshop” - Juvenile Fiction Room
Guided activity in creating an emotionally expressive per-zine around “el Corazon” or the heart. Adapted from a lesson presented at the Barrio Logan College Institute. Join us for an engaging discussion with local writers Kunthon “Katon” Meas, Anatalia Vallez, Alexis Jaimes, and Lola Olvera as they delve into the art and process of zine making. This panel will provide insights into their creative journeys and the inspirations behind their work. LibroMobile Publications is excited to announce the release of two new zines: Homies Who Submit Zines and the LibroMobile Monthly Open Mic Community Zine. Learn how you can bind your zine using a needle and thread! Able ARTS Work’s Teaching Artist, Alyssa Olepau, will get you started on your next pamphlet stitch bound zine!2:00 PM - 2:45 PM - “We’re Here, We’re Queer, and We’re Making Zines About it!” - Storytime Area
Join us as we discuss zines as an expression of queerness, whether that’s how we are inspired or interpret our queerness into the medium, to the inherent queerness of zines itself! Panelists include: jooliefive, Ghost Princess, kkatdawg, ravenbbart, and maybe more! Aviatrix Press (Madeline and Connie Helland) designed this workshop where participants can make a postcard on a tabletop printing press using antique type! Participants will get a brief overview of letterpress printing and a chance to print a souvenir they can take home.
